I always smile to myself when looking at this.
I entered this into a camera club photographic competition many years ago, and one of the judges spent 10 minutes talking about it and how carefully I had composed the photograph, taking into consideration difficult light and weather conditions they make this shot work.
He said that he felt the pre shot prepartion was painstaking !
If only he knew.
I had been in a bar in the basement of the hotel drinking with three Canadian soldiers and was very drunk. A jug of beer had been tipped up in my lap and my jeans and tee shirt were soaking. I went to my room to change my clothes and then looking through the windows with blurred vision saw this scene.
I fumbled with the tripod and camera, set it onto apature priority, went click, and staggered back to the bar. Only when I woke in the morning did I remember even taking the shot !
I won second prize in the competition. Ha ha !
